President Birge

Dear Members of the Class of 2016:

On behalf of the faculty and staff, congratulations on your
graduation from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts! Earning
your bachelor’s or master’s degree is a significant achievement
and will open doors as you choose your next steps. Please
continue leading by example and making a difference in the
world as you have done during your time at MCLA.

The pages in this yearbook are filled with memories of your time
at MCLA — a visual journal of your many accomplishments
during this important year in your life. You will see highlights of
your scholarship, leadership and service, performances and
exhibits, and competitiveness on the courts and fields. Thank you
for your vibrant and lasting imprint on our community.

I encourage you to apply what you have learned at MCLA to
every aspect of your life. Become involved in your community,
be helpful and compassionate citizens, continue to learn and ask
questions. In my charge to you at Commencement, I shared the
motto of Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts — Lux esto vera:
In light there is truth. Use your light to reveal what you can do to

improve the world for us all.

I hope that your warm memories and deep relationships with
friends, faculty, and staff will keep you connected to MCLA.
